Thanks to the generous donations of Barnabas supporters, our partners have distributed 8,000 printed Bibles and 1,000 audio Bibles to Christians in remote villages and forest regions of the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, India.
Family devotions have given believers great spiritual strength since the arrival of printed Bibles
Please join us in praising God for the distribution of 8,000 Bibles and 1,000 audio Bibles in central India.
Special care was taken to identify new believers, spiritually hungry and poor Christians, and families who could not afford to purchase a Bible.
Audio Bibles were distributed among elderly believers and those who are unable to read.
One grateful recipient was Mangal Singh. He never got the chance to attend school or to learn to read or write. “For many years, this made me feel that I was missing something important, especially when it came to understanding God’s Word,” he recalls.
“Deep inside, I always wanted to know God more personally. I wanted to understand His teachings and feel His guidance in my daily life, but not being able to read was a big obstacle for me.
“The Word of God gives me direction”
When Mangal received his audio Bible, it felt like a new beginning. He treasured being able to replay God’s Word, think about it, and keep it in my heart.
Being able to replay and listen to God’s Word regularly has transformed Mangal’s life
“Since I started listening regularly, I have noticed a real change in myself,” he says.
“My thinking has become calmer. I feel encouraged during difficult days. The Word of God gives me direction and reminds me to live with faith and patience.
“From my heart, I say thank you to everyone who made this possible. This audio Bible has truly been a blessing in my life.”
“I feel as though God Himself is speaking to me”
Church leaders have reported that believers are becoming more rooted in Scripture.
Bible study groups have increased, and new fellowship gatherings have begun in several villages. Pastors report that members are more confident in sharing their faith and standing firm during challenges.
“I can now hear and treasure God’s Word in my heart,” said Suman after receiving her audio Bible
One such person is 40-year-old Suman, who came to faith in 2004. Suman’s blindless has left her feeling helpless.
“It was like light entering into my life”, she declared, when she received her audio Bible.
“When I listen to it, I feel as if God Himself is speaking directly to me. I no longer feel left out or dependent on someone else to know His promises.”
“Christ-centred homes”
The provision of full printed Bibles has brought significant change in believers’ lives.
“Families started gathering for daily Bible reading, creating Christ-centred homes where spiritual discussions and prayers became part of everyday life,” our partners report.
“This personal engagement with the Word has produced visible transformation in character, conduct, and commitment to Christ.
“Believers who once relied only on Sunday messages are now spiritually nourished throughout the week, leading to maturity, stability and boldness in their faith.”
How you can pray
- Praise the Lord for the successful distribution of the printed and audio Bibles to Christians in India.
- Give thanks for the spiritual growth and transformed lives that have already been evident since our brothers and sisters received God’s precious Word.
- Pray for continued growth in His Church in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh that leads to positive change in society and draws others to the faith.
- Ask that those deprived of Scripture by background, lack of formal education or disability such as Mangal and Susman will go from strength to strength as they develop their relationship with their risen Lord and Saviour.
