Have you worked to provide a future for your family?
Many of you will have children or grandchildren – and you have made sacrifices to ensure that they receive the education, the training and the opportunity that they need to build their lives.
In a similar way, Scripture teaches that we should have a concern for our family in Christ – “the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10).
Christians in Pakistan are immensely hard-working, yet discrimination in education and employment means they lack opportunities.
Hard work only gets young Pakistani Christians so far. Can you provide the opportunity they need?
To put food on the table, they often have to take the dirtiest, most dangerous, and the most labour-intensive jobs that are available r, such as cleaning sewers, sweeping streets or labouring in brick kilns.
Sadly, hard work only gets you so far.
“Lacking practical skills,” says our project partner, “they are trapped in generational cycles of poverty and social exclusion, limiting their opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society.”
These are opportunities you can provide.
Thanks to the heartfelt care of our supporters, Barnabas Aid-funded apprenticeships are helping Christians in Pakistan to break out of this cycle of poverty, and our partner is aiming to help even more young people.
You can fund an apprenticeship that secures employment for a young believer and strengthens the Christian community
God willing, a new youth apprenticeship initiative will provide 100 marginalised believers with training in subjects such as mechanics, midwifery, IT and computer skills, electronics, embroidery and tailoring, and welding.
These apprenticeships can help secure employment, provision for the future, and the strengthening of the Christian community.
Additionally, the 12-month programme includes discipleship training, ensuring that, at the same time as learning market-relevant skills, apprentices will grow as followers of Christ.
Please provide this better future for your family in Christ.
How you can pray
Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity to see our young brothers and sisters grow both in their professional lives and in their walk with their Saviour. We pray that these believers will be enabled to break free from the cycle of poverty and destitution. We ask in Christ’s Name that this project will strengthen the whole Christian community and bring glory to You.
