The disaster is long past – but the needs continue.
You will remember the news coverage in late October 2025 as Hurricane Melissa struck the Caribbean.
Jamaica bore the brunt of the disaster, while eastern Cuba was also severely impacted.
A lack of safe drinking water has led to a rise in water-borne diseases
Thanks to you – Barnabas Aid’s supporters – we have been able to provide assistance to Christian communities in Jamaica and Cuba ever since then.
But together we can do even more to help.
One of the main problems facing our brothers and sisters three months later remains a lack of safe, clean drinking water.
The result has been a rise in water-borne diseases.
Can you provide safe drinking water for believers in Jamaica and Cuba?
Barnabas Aid’s project partners are planning to provide 820 water filtration units to be distributed to members of Jamaican and Cuban churches.
These units remove impurities from the water, vastly reducing the risk of illness.
Could you give towards this vital work? Could you commit to praying for your brothers and sisters in their time of need?
How you can pray
Our Father, we cry out to You on behalf of our brothers and sisters still suffering the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Please bless these efforts to help them and to provide safe drinking water. We also pray that You will encourage them in Your love, care and compassion despite their difficult circumstances, for we ask it in our Saviour’s Name.
