As we continue our campaign to provide a million pigs and a million chickens for impoverished Christian communities, we need your help.
The people of Laos are among the poorest in the world.
One in five Lao citizens live in poverty. This proportion is higher in rural areas, where communities rely on subsistence farming and face limited infrastructure.
Christians in rural areas of Laos are an impoverished and persecuted minority
In these areas, Christians are a persecuted minority. They must look to you, their brothers and sisters, for support.
Barnabas Aid’s project partner hopes to provide piglets or chickens for more than 1,500 Christians in northern Laos.
“This project aims to enhance food security and promote self-sufficiency,” he says. “The project’s overarching goal is to improve household nutrition and income generation.”
Can you give hope to your brothers and sisters?
The gift of these animals will empower beneficiaries by providing them with a sustainable, long-term source of income. The pigs can be bred and sold, while the chicken eggs can also be sold or used as a regular source of nutrition.
Barnabas Aid’s partner will also provide training in animal health and welfare, as well as food for the piglets and chickens.
Could you donate towards this important work? Will you pray for the success of this project, and that the Lord will provide for His people in Laos?
How you can pray
Lord God and Heavenly Father, we pray for Your people in Laos who endure both persecution and poverty. We ask You to bless these efforts to provide for them, not just in the short term but for years to come. Please lift our brothers and sisters out of poverty and provide for their needs, we pray in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
