Christian-majority Zimbabwe has faced persistent droughts and severe food shortages for many years. Through Barnabas Aid, you have supplied food to more than 30,000 of your impoverished brothers and sisters. Please join us in praising God for His provision.

Your generosity brings nourishment and hope to vulnerable families – a tangible expression of God’s love in action.

“The food has been a lifesaver – we are so grateful for your support,” said a pastor in Zimbabwe, one of more than 30,000 vulnerable Christians who received vital food assistance amid the ongoing drought, and economic crisis.

Christian-majority Zimbabwe has been suffering for many years from drought and consequent food shortages.

Your donations have provided not only material aid but also spiritual encouragement.

Emergency Food Supply in Matabeleland

Matabeleland is a deeply impoverished area in south-western Zimbabwe.

Here a shipment of 72,000 lbs. of lentils, chickpeas, and split peas from Barnabas Aid supporters in Australia reached 26,700 individuals, including 4,800 children under six – a powerful testament to God’s love in action.

Nearly 4,000 others received food packs containing maize meal, cooking oil, and corn-soya porridge. These provisions not only improved nutrition and alleviated financial strain, but also offered encouragement to widows, orphans, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

“This food saved us,” said one of the recipients, a 90-year-old woman.

An Amazing Recovery

Ma Ndebele, a widow in the Bulawayo area of Matabeleland, was among those who received a food pack.

Alongside her children, Ma cares for two elderly neighbors. One of them regained so much strength after receiving Barnabas-funded food aid that she was able to walk to church again after a year of being unable to make the journey.

Barnabas food aid helped widow Ma Ndebele support her children and elderly neighbors, restoring strength and hope.

The health of children also improved – in some churches, Sunday school attendance even doubled.

Supporting Christian Children and Families in Harare

In Zimbabwe’s capital Harare Barnabas Aid implemented a three-month relief program.

By the distribution of 1,643 food packs each month, nearly 3,000 individuals were reached, including elderly people, orphans, and children living with disabilities or long-term illnesses.

Project partners joyfully shared the food that you have provided.

Local churches identified the recipients, ensuring the most vulnerable were supported. This aid not only met physical needs but also revitalized discipleship and community life within the churches.

“Now I can cook sadza [a porridge-like dish made from maize meal] for my grandchildren again,” said a grandmother. “This is God’s provision!”

Your Compassion Makes a Difference

Through your faithful partnership, tens of thousands have received life-saving food relief, offering both hope and practical support in difficult times.

Your generosity has transformed lives and strengthened communities.

More than 30,000 Christians in need were reached with food aid.

Despite these efforts, the crisis is far from over. With ongoing drought and food shortages, support is urgently needed. Vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, orphans, and the elderly remain at high risk.

The Word of God tells us, “If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness” (Isaiah 58:10).

Thank you for being a light!
