Your support for Barnabas Aid's Living Streams school sponsorship initiative is helping to pave the way to a better future for hundreds of young believers in Pakistan.

The education provided at Barnabas-supported Christian schools in Pakistan enables children to grow spiritually and academically.

Praise the Lord that, through the regular monthly gifts* of our supporters, hundreds of impoverished young believers are receiving a Christian education, delivered by Christian teachers, at Christian schools. The knowledge they gain enables children to break free from the poverty and illiteracy that trapped previous generations, and gives them hope of finding a decent job.

Adan is just one of the young believers who has benefited. He says his “life started to change beautifully” when he joined a Barnabas-supported school.

“It has not only helped me in my studies but also brought me closer to God,” he says. “I want to keep learning, growing in faith, and following Jesus every day.

“Now I know that I am a child of God, and He has a good plan for my life.”

Adan has grown closer to God.

Christian Parents in Pakistan call Barnabas-Supported Schools “a Blessing”

Christians are a despised minority in Muslim-majority Pakistan, and discrimination leaves many believers trapped in low-paid, difficult, and hazardous jobs.

Parents are often too poor to afford to send their children to school. However, Christian families pay little or no fees (depending on their means) for their children to attend a Barnabas-supported school.

“This school is a blessing for people like us who dream of a better future for our children,” says Khalid, a Christian father-of-four.

He earns only subsistence-level wages from his job in one of Pakistan’s thousands of brick kilns and was grateful when the school waived the fees for his children to attend. “I want them to receive a good education so they can have a better life than I had,” he adds.

Mother Thanks School for Fulfilling her Dreams

Khalid’s sentiments are echoed by Musarat, a mother of two who earns a meager living as an airport cleaner.

“Even though I work hard and face many challenges, I feel a sense of peace when I see my children going to school with smiles on their faces,” she explains.

“I believe that education will open doors for their future. I want to see them doing honorable jobs one day, living a life with respect and success.

“I pray for them every day and ask God to bless them with wisdom and strength. I thank the school for supporting my children and helping me fulfil my dream.”

Christian Teachers in Pakistan see God’s Hand at Work Every Day

Musarat’s daughter Malika looks forward to her school Bible classes. “These stories teach me how to live with love, kindness, and faith,” she says. “I enjoy sharing them with my family and friends at home.

“I feel blessed to study in a place where I can learn both knowledge and good values.”

Barnabas-supported schools also provide jobs for Christian teachers within a caring Christian environment.

Teacher Rabia told Barnabas, “This school is not just a workplace for me – it is a place where I see God’s hand at work every day.

“Many children come from difficult situations, but when they hear more about the love of Christ, something begins to change in them. Their smiles, their prayers and their desire to learn more about Jesus inspire me every day.”
