Your brothers and sisters in Christ are looking to you for help in their time of need.
Unprecedented tropical storms have deluged South-East Asia, resulting in widespread destruction and the deaths of hundreds.
The Philippines is among the worst affected. At the end of September, the country was rocked by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that destroyed homes, businesses and church buildings.
More was to come. Typhoon Kamlei struck the Philippines in early November, followed less than a week later by Super Typhoon Fung Wong.

Two weeks on, the members of 11 house churches in the Filipino province of Cebu are yet to receive the aid or support that they desperately need.
They are looking to the Church – the body of Christ – to reach out in practical love and active compassion.
“Tap water has been contaminated with floodwater and mud,” says Barnabas Aid’s Projects Manager for South-East Asia. “Access to clean water is severely restricted.
“Furthermore, the storm has forced the closure of schools, and individuals are unable to work, meaning they cannot earn a salary to sustain themselves.”

Barnabas Aid project partners have drawn up plans to supply more than 300 families from the 11 churches with supplies of food, clean drinking water and fuel.
These families are just some of the believers that, God willing, we will be able to assist – but without you we cannot carry out this desperately needed relief effort.
Without you, these brothers and sisters in Christ have no earthly source of help.

Lord God and Heavenly Father, thank You for the faith of our brothers and sisters enduring such hardship. Please supply the needs of the believers in Cebu who have yet to receive help. We pray for all the affected areas of South-East Asia – Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and across the Philippines – asking that You will bless all relief efforts and especially strengthen Your people at this time – we ask it in our Saviour’s Name.
