Three people were killed and 11 abducted by unidentified gunmen in an attack on Kauru Local Government Area (LGA), Kaduna State, Nigeria, in the early hours of February 7.
Among those taken was Nathaniel Asuwaye, the minister of Holy Trinity Church in Karku.
The attack targeted his residence, in keeping with the trend of kidnapping church leaders in many parts of northern and Middle Belt Nigeria.
Abductions of church leaders and other Christians by both Islamists and criminal gangs are common.
The identity of the attackers has not yet been confirmed, but residents described them as terrorists.
Kauru LGA borders Kajuru LGA, where 183 people were abducted from three church services and the surrounding area on Sunday, January 18. All 183 have now been freed.

Pray that Nathaniel and the others abducted will be released, safe and unharmed. Ask the Lord to grant peace to them, as well as to those who have lost family and friends in this attack. Pray once again that the Lord will bring an end to the violent activities of Islamist terrorists and criminal gangs.
