Barnabas Aid has provided urgent food and essential household items for 507 Christian families who were forced to flee their homes following military attacks on villages in Sagaing Region, Myanmar.
Many families had to leave with little or nothing and were facing difficult conditions away from their homes.
Myanmar has been experiencing prolonged conflict since the military takeover in 2021, with fighting and attacks forcing large numbers of people from their homes. In areas such as Sagaing Region, many communities have been affected by violence and displacement, leaving families without reliable access to food, shelter and other basic necessities.
Displaced Christian families in Myanmar receive food and essential household supplies after being forced to flee their homes
Families received rice, chickpeas and cooking oil as well as blankets and sleeping mats.
This helped families meet some of their most immediate needs during a time of fear and uncertainty. For those who had lost their homes, this practical assistance provided help when it was needed most.
One beneficiary shared, “Our village was burned and we had to flee immediately. The food and household items we received helped my family survive difficult days. We are deeply thankful to God for this timely support.”
Thank you for your prayers on behalf of persecuted and improverished believers in Myanmar.
How you can pray
Please pray for Christian families who have been displaced by the conflict in Myanmar. Pray that God will protect them, provide food and shelter for them, and give them strength and peace as they face an uncertain future. Pray especially for families who have lost their homes and livelihoods, and for those who hope to return home when it is safe to do so.
