“Suffering and trauma.”
This is the blunt way that our project partner in Myanmar described the experience of young Christian children in this war-torn land.
They have lived through a nightmare that you cannot comprehend.
But you have the power, by God’s grace, to make a difference.
Can you make a life-changing difference in the life of a child who has suffered so greatly by helping them to attend school?
Our partners report that their work grows day by day.
In February this year they cared for 126 children, “all suffering varying degrees of trauma from what they have seen and experienced due to the civil war”.
By May, that number had increased to 160. Today, it is more than 200 – and that number looks set to rise.
All have endured not only the horrors of the conflict zone itself, but also an arduous 2-3-week journey in the back of a truck across Myanmar’s unforgiving terrain to reach a place of safety.
Despite all they have suffered, the children’s faith is remarkable.
“They have a deep faith in God,” says our partner.
“They don’t just sing songs to God … they worship. We have never experienced the profoundly deep level of faith evident in these children.”
Food for today. But with the number of children in need of help rising each month, will there be food for tomorrow?
For these children, the opportunity to attend school is the gateway to a normal and fulfilling life.
Could you help these young brothers and sisters in Christ by donating towards the cost of school fees and equipment, as well as supplying food and other urgent necessities?
Not only will you be meeting their physical needs, but you will also be reaching out in love and fellowship to your own spiritual family. You will be setting up a child for a far better future.
Will you commit to praying for this work, and that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in the hearts of these young believers and the people of God who sacrifice so much to care for them?
How you can pray
Lord God and Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible faith of these young followers of Christ. We know that Your love and compassion surrounds them. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work to heal them of their trauma and grow them in the love of Christ. Please meet their needs for education, food and other basic necessities, so that they will have every opportunity to live a life of flourishing to the glory of Christ, in whose Name we pray.
