The war in Myanmar may have begun before you were born.
In 1948, the country – then known as Burma – fell into an armed conflict that has never yet been resolved.
This has only intensified since a military coup in February 2021 – and members of our Christian family are among those suffering the consequences.

The military government’s bombardment of ethnic-minority Christians has been likened to genocide.
Think of the urgent humanitarian needs created by such a desperate situation.
Among the most keenly felt are medical needs, as our project partner explains. “Due to the significant impact of the Myanmar civil war, violence continues to grow and spread across the nation, alongside the loss of access to healthcare.”
Hospitals have closed and medical infrastructure is severely lacking. Doctors or medics from other countries cannot reach these remote, high-risk areas.
Many are left suffering needlessly from treatable illnesses. Women die in childbirth at an alarming rate.
Training new associate physicians will help our partner expand their work of providing medical care to isolated, war-torn communities
But you can help.
Our partner has committed to training two associate physicians to serve in Karen State, a Christian-majority area of the country.
Crucially, their training will include antenatal care and the carrying out of caesarean sections for at-risk mothers.
God willing, more associate physicians will be trained in the future.
By helping to fund the training of these first two, you can give help and hope to hundreds – possibly thousands – of needy people in the months and years ahead.
How you can pray
Lord God and Heavenly Father, please bless the training of these two associate physicians. We pray that once qualified they will be a blessing to many people who would otherwise lack the medical care that they need. Thank You for the willingness of our brothers and sisters to serve in this way, we pray in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
