When disaster strikes, the world sits up and takes notice.
But then the world moves on.
Yet you know that when the news cycle has gone on to the next thing, the story isn’t over – and that, three weeks on from a pair of devastating earthquakes, the people of Venezuela remain in desperate need. The first earthquake measured a 7.2 magnitude – the second, which followed just forty seconds later, 7.5.
The death toll stands at 4,400. Nearly 17,000 were injured. Around 80% of buildings in the capital city of Caracas and the surrounding region collapsed. Nearly 18,000 people have been left homeless.
Barnabas Aid is working with a network of churches and pastors who aim to help some of the most vulnerable among their members and wider communities.
You can be a part of this Christ-centred relief effort.
Can you donate today to provide food parcels, clean drinking water, hygiene kits, first aid supplies, blankets, tents and other necessities? Can you pray for the success of the ongoing relief effort and the long-term rebuilding that will follow?

How you can pray
Father God, we lift to You our brothers and sisters and all the people of Venezuela in their time of desperate need. We pray for the success of this project to provide food, temporary shelter and other necessities through Your Church. Please bring comfort to the suffering and the bereaved. We ask that the Holy Spirit will equip our fellow believers to bear witness to the love of Christ, in whose Name we pray.
