“I am tired of running.” These were the words of Barka Amos, a Nigerian Christian from Kautikari village, Chibok Local Government Area (LGA), Borno State, after yet another Islamist attack.
The armed assault by the Islamic State West Africa Province led to the deaths of three Christians. Two had already fled violence elsewhere in the region.
Kautikari, along with another village in Chibok LGA, was attacked just a few weeks ago by Boko Haram. On that occasion four men were killed.

The cry of Barka Amos could be echoed by many Christians, across Nigeria and around the world.
In Myanmar, Christians are among those driven from their homes and left to take shelter in camps for internally displaced persons or simply in the jungle. Often the Tatmadaw (Myanmar military) attacks these displaced people, forcing them again to flee for their lives.
Many believers in Afghanistan have had to abandon their homes, and must remain continually on the move to avoid detection by the Taliban.
Humanly speaking our brothers and sisters have very few options, and little if any hope of being safe from persecution, violence and death.
Yet for each one there remains the promise that God will be their strength, even as they run from place to place, and that ultimately they will find their rest in Him.
