Persecution. Violence. Poverty. Hunger.

This is the daily reality of your brothers and sisters in north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

This region is the epicenter of both violent anti-Christian persecution carried out by Islamic State Central Africa Province and an armed rebellion led by the M23 Movement. Thousands are dead. Thousands more have been displaced from their homes and their land.

Yet this is the also the region where you now have the opportunity to combat hatred and grow hope.

The scene of a recent Islamic State attack in north-eastern D. R. Congo that left at least nine Christians dead.

“When we fled the fighting, we lost nearly everything and have no means to cultivate our land,” says a Christian woman in North Kivu Province.

“Feeding my four children becomes a daily struggle,” she adds.

Many can tell a similar story of missed opportunities to plant seeds and gather the harvest.

A Barnabas Aid project partner warns of “increased risk of food insecurity and potential prolonged famine for many families” as a result.

The plight of desperately impoverished Christians is worsened by violent persecution and persistent conflict. Can you help?

God willing, our project partner will distribute maize and bean seeds along with basic tools, and provide hands-on training in sustainable farming. This intervention will enable 850 Christian households to restart food production.

Yet none of this will be possible without you.

We are incredibly grateful for the response our supporters have already made to the suffering of your brothers and sisters in DRC.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers. If the Lord leads, please donate to support this important work to bring about the growth of hope amidst such desperate hardship.

How You Can Pray

Our Father, we cry out to You again for our persecuted brothers and sisters in D. R. Congo. You know, O Lord, how intense is their suffering and the hardship they face. Rescue them, we pray, from targeted persecution, and from the other conflicts that rage around them. Please bless this work to ensure that they do not fall into food shortages and famine, for we ask it in our Savior’s Name.
