A Christian was captured and killed by Islamist insurgents in conflict-riven Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique.
The believer was abducted from near the village of Kabu in Macomia district on Sunday, September 6.
The killing followed another attack on September 3 in neighboring Niassa Province, in which the insurgents burned down a church building along with a police station and a government building.

Islamic State Mozambique (IS-M) has killed at least 2,735 civilians since 2017.

In some cases, IS-M has singled out Christians from among groups of captured civilians, killing them and allowing the Muslims to go free. In other cases, however, Christians and Muslims have been killed indiscriminately.
In July and August five Christians are known to have been captured and killed by IS-M in several incidents across Cabo Delgado.

Please intercede for our brothers and sisters in northern Mozambique, and all the other communities affected by terrorist violence. Pray especially for the bereaved family and friends of those recently killed. Praise the Lord that persecution and violence can never rob a believer of victory in Christ.
