This grim situation is the result of many years of conflict in north-eastern DRC.
In late 2025 incidents of violence in South Kivu spiked once again, largely driven by the armed rebel group known as the M23 Movement.
The civilian population of this Christian-majority land is close to reaching “utter desperation”, according to experts monitoring the unfolding humanitarian crisis.

Barnabas Aid is partnering with pastors and church volunteers in South Kivu to reach 500 families among the most vulnerable internally displaced people (IDPs) with food and other necessities.
Families who have lost their homes. Women and children at risk of malnutrition and sexual violence. Local churches hosting IDPs but without the means to provide food.

Please bless this work to bring aid to some of the most vulnerable. We ask that this work will bring not only physical relief but also spiritual encouragement. Please bring an end to the violence and turmoil throughout north-eastern D. R. Congo, we ask in our Saviour’s Name.
