You have gained Christ – but lost everything else.
If you can imagine this, then you can imagine the situation facing Christian converts from Islam in Tanzania.
Like the Apostle Paul they suffered the loss of all things to know the Lord Jesus and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:8-10).
In this there is an everlasting joy that cannot be taken away. But there are also real and important needs in the here and now that cannot be ignored.
As well as learning practical skills, participants will be helped to grow in their faith through discipleship training and Bible study
“In Tanzania, converts from Islam to Christianity face significant challenges, including family and community rejection that often leads to homelessness and loss of social safety nets,” says a Barnabas Aid project partner.
“The inability to find stable employment means they struggle to provide for themselves and their families.”
Our partner works in prisons to share the Good News of salvation. Many Muslim prisoners have accepted Christ.
Now they are your brothers in Christ – and they need your help.
We are funding a six-month programme to train, initially, 37 Muslim-background believers as welders.
"Providing both spiritual and material support helps our brothers to rebuild their lives," says Barnabas Aid’s project partners
Instructors will give high-quality training in various welding techniques and safety procedures, as well as business management basics.
Each trainee will also be assigned a mentor to give spiritual advice and support. The group will receive discipleship training and take part in Bible studies and prayer meetings, ensuring that they also grow in their new-found faith.
Our partner explains, “Providing both spiritual and material support helps our brothers to rebuild their lives.”
Can you provide this support?
How you can pray
Heavenly Father, we give thanks for the power of the Gospel and the faithful preaching of the Word that has brought many to faith in Christ in Tanzania. We ask You to bless the welding programmes to enable these new brothers in Christ to be fully equipped to provide for their families and glorify You with these vital skills. Please direct those leading discipleship training so that deep spiritual foundations will be firmly established in these converts’ lives that will have a profound impact on their communities, for we ask in the precious Name of Jesus.
