More than 10 million people have fled Sudan as the civil war rages on. Among them is Soriah, who escaped to Egypt after her home was destroyed by a bomb.
Learn moreSoriah is a Sudanese Christian woman whose home was bombed in the civil war. She is one of more than 10 million who have been displaced because of the conflict.
Soriah explains how Christian persecution, which was already prevalent in Sudan before the war, is worsening: “There is still persecution, but it’s even more now because they’re taking advantage of the civil war, the conflict, and attacking Christians and persecuting them.”
Like most other believers in Sudan, Soriah fled the country. Churches in neighbouring countries such as Egypt help these refugees as much as they can, providing emergency aid such as food and blankets. But the churches themselves have limited resources.
Soriah’s story mirrors the experience of other believers all around the world, who are forced to run from violence and persecution.
All over the world are Christians forced to flee their homes because of conflict. As well as Sudan, Christians are displaced in Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic and Myanmar – to name just a few.
Many of these believers have gone to neighbouring countries in search of asylum. Others remain in their home countries as Internally Displaced People (IDPs). All of these believers need the help of organisations like Barnabas, and other Christians – like you.
Barnabas Aid is providing life-changing aid to those displaced because of war.
These are just some of our projects helping displaced Christians receive emergency aid and the means to start rebuilding their lives. These Christians won’t be going home for Christmas, but with your help, they can know the encouraging love of God.
We at Barnabas Aid believe in the power of prayer and want to encourage as many believers as possible to pray for our displaced brothers and sisters.
By giving to displaced Christians this Christmas you can show the love of Christ to our brothers and sisters who have no place to rest their head. Your support will truly help them at their time of need by providing them emergency supplies and the means to start their new lives.
