Barnabas Aid’s work of supporting our brothers and sisters in war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is continuing, thanks to you.
Many believers are among those affected by the violence that has afflicted the north-eastern provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri throughout the course of this year.
Approximately a quarter of the population of this region has been displaced by armed groups, including the Rwanda-backed M23 Movement and the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP).
Praise God for the help you have given through Barnabas to Christians in D. R. Congo
Barnabas is helping those affected by an ISCAP attack on a church service in Komanda, Ituri, that left at least 34 worshippers dead. Thanks to you, we are providing food aid along with farming tools and seeds to supply their needs in the longer term.
We have also provided food for 150 Christian families displaced by M23 violence in North Kivu.
Building on this kind of emergency response, Barnabas is launching the project “Psychological Care for People Affected by the Massacres in North and South Kivu”, which combines emergency humanitarian aid with structured psychosocial support.

In its latest phase, 400 displaced households, many of which include pastors, deacons and church choir members, have received assistance.
This dual approach meets both immediate physical needs and emotional well-being, laying the groundwork for lasting healing.
“How can we fail to express our gratitude for the closeness you have shown to the members of the population who have found themselves in distress as a result of criminal acts and massacres that have overwhelmed them and forced them to move from their homes,” said a pastor in North Kivu.
“Thank you for your compassion,” said another of our project partners. “The love of God is evident through your help.”
How you can pray
Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to His people, even as they endure hardship and evil. Pray that He will continue to uphold them and bless the work of Barnabas Aid in meeting their many needs.
