Churches targeted.
Believers threatened.
Homes attacked.
This is the situation facing so many of your brothers and sisters in several states in India.
Pastor Jabbar Khan in central India gave his life to Christ after growing up in a Muslim background. For more than 16 years he faithfully served a small church in Madhya Pradesh, helping believers grow in their faith and sharing the Gospel with others.
But in August 2025 everything changed.
Pastor Jabbar (second from right), a convert to Christianity, was arrested and beaten for sharing the Gospel with others. Will you provide for Indian Christians in their great need?
While believers were gathered peacefully for worship, extremists forced their way into the church meeting and accused Pastor Jabbar of converting people to Christianity. Soon afterwards he was arrested under his state’s anti-conversion law.
Pastor Jabbar spent more than a month in prison. During that time he was mistreated, beaten severely, and his health suffered.
His wife and sons have also suffered intimidation and threats. One son lost his job.
While Pastor Jabbar was in jail, local authorities moved against his family home. Despite a court order intended to protect the property, much of the building was demolished.
The context for religious minorities in India is complex. While some states promote tolerance and coexistence, others are pursuing an aggressive anti-Christian agenda.
Sadly, many of your brothers and sisters in these states can recount similar experiences of harassment and persecution.
Today, you can act to support and encourage them.
You can provide a new home for Pastor Jabbar and his family, together with help for essential living costs as they rebuild their lives.
You can meet the needs of suffering believers as they bear the cost of following Christ.
Please prayerfully consider taking action to help persecuted Christians.
How you can pray
Heavenly Father, we lift before You Pastor Jabbar Khan and his family. Thank You for sustaining them and other believers through many hardships. Please provide for the needs of Your people, and surround them with Your peace and protection. Strengthen their faith and help them to continue shining the light of Christ despite persecution. We pray that through this trial the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ in India will be strengthened, for we ask it in His Name.
