“This was something out of my reach but thank you for believing in me and giving me an opportunity to make my dream a reality.”

These are the words of Tania, a Computer Science student at a Christian College in Lahore, Pakistan.

Tania is one of 85 Christian students from impoverished backgrounds to benefit from a Barnabas-funded scholarship – made possible through your generosity.

Because of your donations, Tania can now get the education needed to better her future

In Pakistan, where Christians are a small minority, many Christian students at mainstream schools get bullied by pupils and teachers alike, treated unfairly because of their faith, and even pressured to convert to Islam.

Christians in Pakistan commonly work only the lowest-paid and dirtiest jobs, and many cannot afford to send their children to school at all. This perpetuates a cycle of poverty and illiteracy from which it is almost impossible to escape.

Barnabas-funded scholarships enable young Christians in Pakistan to get an education in a loving and supportive Christian environment, where their faith can flourish alongside their learning. These children, previously marginalised and impoverished, now have the opportunity to pursue higher-paying career paths and create bright futures for themselves.

Isaac, another of the students, lost his only means of support when his father died. By God’s grace, you have given him an opportunity that he wouldn’t have otherwise had.

“Thank you,” said Isaac, “for investing in my life and empowering me with quality education.”

How you can pray

Praise the Lord that He has enabled young Christians in Pakistan to get an education that would otherwise be unattainable for them. Ask God to watch over these children and help them succeed in their education so that they have the best chance of a good life after finishing school.
