Barnabas aid International (‘International’) is the umbrella organisation that oversees and serves the Barnabas Aid Family of ministries. The board of International is made up of the four chairs of the respective trustee boards for Barnabas Aid in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom, and the International CEO.
International provides the overall framework and strategy for Barnabas Aid’s mission to serve the suffering and persecuted Church. It is the means of collective decision making, collective accountability and collective purpose.
International includes Barnabas Aid’s Projects department, which evaluates, oversees and monitors Barnabas-funded projects around the world.
It also includes our Outreach team, which produces updates about the work of Barnabas Aid and the situations facing our suffering brothers and sisters for this website, the Barnabas Aid magazine and prayer, as well as other publications.
Finally, International provides shared services to the national offices, including some finance and HR services, and our shared investment in technology.
International’s work allows Barnabas Aid’s national offices to focus on raising awareness, promoting prayer and encouraging generosity on behalf of the suffering and persecuted Church, and enables the whole Barnabas Family to work as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Because the International board is made up of representatives from our national offices where donor funds are raised, this ensures strong and mutual compliance, transparency and agency for all.
Barnabas Aid International is truly international.
The International office, along with our International CEO and International Executive Leadership team, is based in the UK with a multi-national team including colleagues from around 20 countries. Trustees are also based in several different countries.
Barnabas Aid International is a non-stock corporation with limited liability incorporated in Virginia, USA, (SCC ID: 07920663) and a 501(c)3 non-profit organisation recognised by the IRS (EIN 47-4235863). It is also registered with Companies House in the United Kingdom as a foreign company (FC037864) and has a local establishment in the UK (BR022955). It is therefore itself also fully regulated as a non-profit entity.
